Holiday Lunch
Cranberry Lacers gathered at the Stage House Tavern in Somerset for our traditional December "meeting" - the holiday lunch. We shared wonderful conversation and great food in this historic restaurant, enjoying ourselves in a private room in the part of the building that was over 200 years old. Part of the fun of the afternoon was continuing a 20 year old tradition of reading "The Night Before Christmas" and doing a gift swap. Everyone brought a gift and every time during the reading the word "the" was said, the gifts were passed to the next person around the table until the last "the" was said and the gift in your hands was the one that you opened and kept. The book that has been used for all these years was gifted to the group 20 years ago in 1997 by Trish, sadly no longer with us. It is believed that the idea for this was started in 1996 and then Trish bought the book the following year.

July meeting
Our July 15th meeting was filled with friendship, lace, and food, as always. Our members take turns bring desserts (and sometimes additional goodies) to share during our lace days. Thank you to Cranberry Lacer Veronica for a wonderful spread this month! Some of our members didn't make it, as they were anxiously packing up in preparation for the annual IOLI Convention, which began the very next day. Looking forward to hearing the stories of those who attended!

June meeting
Many of us had quite the eventful adventure in getting into the library today! We have learned that when Franklin Township has their Household Hazardous Waste Day collection in the same municipal complex as the library, it can take up to 45 minutes just to get down the road and into the parking lot. 😩. Add in the pouring rain this morning, and our June lace meeting will be one to remember. Nevertheless, the ones who made it enjoyed the company and companionship of lace today. Here's a sampling of what was on our pillows today.
We meet every third Saturday of the month for a day of lacing and conversation. (However, we have already decided that if Household Hazardous Waste Day collection occurs on a third Saturday next year, we definitely need to switch dates!)
